Family winyard Tement Zieregg XT 2015
The first of its kind - and nothing less than a revolution - is the "Zieregg XT'. The abbreviation stands for "Extra Time' - and this Zieregg and its grape material from the old centrepiece of the vineyard were given just that. It had an impressive eight years to mature in the barrel, and the 2015 was finally bottled in 2024. The idea behind this is obvious: to bring a great wine that needs to mature to the market only at the time of its optimum drinking maturity. A plan that works: The result is a highly complex masterpiece, infused with the deepest salty minerality, herbs, deeply integrated fruit and acidity. Perhaps the most astonishing thing is how incredibly young, fresh and taut the "XT' appears despite its long maturation. Sauvignon Blanc in absolute perfection!
