The "Ried Grassnitzberg Reserve? is only bottled in the best years and 2017 was one of the best in the history of the estate. The "Reserve? comes from the closed Grassnitzberg vineyard, which is characterized by a sandy-loamy shell limestone soil. After spontaneous fermentation, the wine was matured on the fine lees in 2,000 and 2,500 barrels and bottled in May 2021. The Sauvignon Blanc already shows all the greatness that the variety can achieve in southern Styria. It smells of raspberries, gooseberries, cassis, grapefruit and Meyer lemons, nougat and spicy stone. On the palate, the wine shows impressive freshness, spiciness, elegance and intensity right through to the endless finish. An impressive sight!
