Phélan Ségur was the secret star of our 2021 Bordeaux Arrivage tasting. He is always somewhat overshadowed by his neighbor Calon Ségur. In contrast to the 3ème Cru estate, Phélan Ségur has developed into a filigree St. Etèphe with a lot of finesse. This is particularly noticeable in this rather leaner vintage. This wine is a great recommendation in 2021 precisely because of its price!

The wine estate, which was brought together at the beginning of the 19th century by the Irishman Bernard O'Phelan from the Clos de Garrmey and Château Ségur wine estates and popularised by his son Frank Phélan, is undoubtedly one of the five best Cru Bourgeois in Bordeaux.
