Saint-Estèphe with structure and nobility. Cassis, blackberry, cedar wood, pepper and a hint of liquorice characterise the bouquet, as do rose petals and red fruit. Dense yet precise on the palate, with ripe, polished tannins, cool, supporting acidity and a clear, mineral core. Everything seems focused and calm, and the length is impressive. Suckling, Vinous and others award 96 points. A drinking window certainly until 2048+; better now in a carafe, ideal with saddle of lamb or mature Comté.
