Pichon Baron particularly benefited from the 2021 Cabernet vintage. The proportion of this grape variety is traditionally high here, in this 2021 vintage it is almost 90%! Lots of black fruit wafts into the nose, while the palate shows plenty of pressure and complexity even in this rather leaner vintage. In the end, however, it is the hedonistic sophistication of this 2021, which is very reminiscent of the 2001, that captivates you. Wonderful!

Vor rund 200 Jahren gab es an der Grenze von Pauillac zu Saint-Julien nur ein Weingut mit dem Namen Pichon-Longueville. Es gehörte Jacques de Pichon, Baron de Longueville, dem ersten Präsidenten des Parlaments von Bordeaux sowie seiner Frau, deren Vater Pierre de Mazure de Rauzan den Grundbesitz im Jahr 1660 erworben hatte. Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde der Besitz aufgeteilt.
