Pichon Baron has always been the stronger, more concentrated wine compared to its sister vineyard Pichon Comtesse and is in constant competition with it. This 2020 shows all the class and ability of a 2ème Cru in terms of concentration as well as elegance and finesse. Powerful Pauillac aromas such as cassis, cedar wood and tobacco notes dominate the first impression, which leads to a long finish that is again characterised by dark fruit and spice and promises a long future.

Vor rund 200 Jahren gab es an der Grenze von Pauillac zu Saint-Julien nur ein Weingut mit dem Namen Pichon-Longueville. Es gehörte Jacques de Pichon, Baron de Longueville, dem ersten Präsidenten des Parlaments von Bordeaux sowie seiner Frau, deren Vater Pierre de Mazure de Rauzan den Grundbesitz im Jahr 1660 erworben hatte. Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde der Besitz aufgeteilt.
