The flavour of the 2016 Pichon Baron is dominated by the typical notes of this unique terroir. These include dark berries, menthol and graphite. The wine is incredibly precise and the rather powerful style of this vineyard comes to the fore in this great vintage, accompanied by extraordinary elegance and juicy fruit. Vor rund 200 Jahren gab es an der Grenze von Pauillac zu Saint-Julien nur ein Weingut mit dem Namen Pichon-Longueville. Es gehörte Jacques de Pichon, Baron de Longueville, dem ersten Präsidenten des Parlaments von Bordeaux sowie seiner Frau, deren Vater Pierre de Mazure de Rauzan den Grundbesitz im Jahr 1660 erworben hatte. Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde der Besitz aufgeteilt.
