"Sophisticated' is the right word to describe the 2018 vintage of "Pichon'. It is a Pauillac with seductive density, depth and rich energy. Dark fruit, cocoa, cedar wood and smoke in the bouquet. Opulent but precise on the palate; the tannins are ripe, polished and silky, the acidity fresh and supportive. 97 points (Vinous, Suckling). A Pichon Baron with classic Pauillac signature, impressive density and a great future until 2050 and beyond.

Château Pichon-Longueville-Baron

Vor rund 200 Jahren gab es an der Grenze von Pauillac zu Saint-Julien nur ein Weingut mit dem Namen Pichon-Longueville. Es gehörte Jacques de Pichon, Baron de Longueville, dem ersten Präsidenten des Parlaments von Bordeaux sowie seiner Frau, deren Vater Pierre de Mazure de Rauzan den Grundbesitz im Jahr 1660 erworben hatte. Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde der Besitz aufgeteilt.
