Kellerei Sankt Pauls Kalkberg Weissburgunder Südtirol 2022

This top selection is not called "Kalkberg? (Limestone Mountain) by coincidence. The grapes come from 15 to 25-year-old vines at the foot of Gantkofel, which is part of the Mendel mountains. The vineyard lies there at 460 to 580 meters altitude and is characterized by water-permeable mineral limestone gravel soils with clay content. The wine was fermented and matured both in stainless steel and in small wooden barrels. The Pinot Bianco is complex and fragrant, reminds one of apple and pear, white peach and fresh mountain herbs. On the palate, complexity combines with compact structure and beautiful creaminess, minerality, salinity and length.
