Kellerei Sankt Pauls Kalkberg Weissburgunder Südtirol 2023

It is no coincidence that this top selection is called "Kalkberg?. The grapes come from vines aged between 15 and 25 years at the foot of the Gantkofel, which forms part of the Mendel Mountains. The vineyard lies at an altitude of 460 to 580 metres above sea level and is characterised by well-drained, mineral-rich limestone gravel soils with a clay component. The wine was fermented and matured in both stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels. This Pinot Blanc is complex and fragrant, evoking notes of apple and pear, white peach and fresh mountain herbs. On the palate, its complexity is combined with a compact structure and a lovely creaminess, minerality, salinity and length.
