"Pinot Grigio? or "Grauburgunder,? as it is called here, is also one of the most popular varieties in South Tyrol, and Sankt Pauls produces in its traditional line a wonderfully uncomplicated and easy-drinking wine. The grapes come from soils with heat-storing moraine debris in village sites at 250 to 450 meters altitude. The wine reminds one of notes of pear, some lemon peel and slightly exotic hints such as carambola and melon. On the palate, the "Pinot Grigio? appears ripe and juicy with a dignified acidity.
