Baigorri Rioja Finca La Quintanilla DOCa 2021

This Rioja "Viñedo Singular? comes from the vineyard of the Finca La Quintanilla planted in the 1930s and offers a clear expression of the terroir of San Vicente de la Sonsierra. With its high-lying vineyards and calcareous clay soils, an eastern exposure with comparatively little sun, this is a cool, polished Rioja that shows grace and elegance. Matured over 24 months in new French barriques, it smells of fruit bread, plums, cherries and berries, of herbs with a special hint of lovage, smoke, tobacco and licorice. On the palate, this is a splendid Rioja with fantastic elegance and chalky texture, a touch of coolness and minerality in the dark, ripe fruit. Outstanding!
