Kellerei Tramin
Lagrein comes from vineyards with deep, sandy soils containing some limestone, porphyry and gravel at an altitude of 250 to 400 metres. The wine was fermented at a controlled temperature of 28 to 30 ?C in small stainless steel tanks and concrete vats. It was then aged for six months, partly in concrete and partly in wood. This typically deep garnet-red wine has an intense aroma of violets, blackberries, plums and cherries, undergrowth, foliage and earthy tones. On the palate, it offers both a successful fullness and dark juiciness as well as a lively, fresh acidity. In addition to the finely spiced notes of chocolate, wood, liquorice and other spices, the wine offers a strong, polished tannin structure.
