Buy wines from Peter Jakob Kühn
For Peter Bernhard Kühn, the winemaker's philosophy is just as much a part of the "terroir" as the soil, topography and climate. "Because every wine is first and foremost born from an idea and is a child of its producers in terms of character."
At the winery in the central Rheingau, which is now run by the tenth generation, the aim is always to produce "lively wines" that "express their origin and their very own character in an unadulterated way."

The soils, characterised by phyllite slate and Taunus quartzite, are home to Pinot Noir and, above all, Riesling. Since 2004, the vines have been cultivated according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture. This means that the natural balance should be disturbed as little as possible. Measures include the use of natural compost, which is „inoculated“ with natural preparations, or the active greening of the slopes.
Natural methods are also used in the cellar. Pure yeasts and fining agents are consistently avoided. „The power of the grape alone makes the wine.“ The grapes are also allowed to develop for a particularly long time. The single-vineyard wines, for example, often only reach the market after three years.
