La Dame de Montrose Saint-Estephe 2020

Bordeaux, France, Red wine, wine cuvée
0.75 l, Item no. 10055

One of the best second wines in Bordeaux at a sensational price-pleasure ratio. In terms of style, it is quite close to its big brother Château Montrose, although there is a higher proportion of Merlot here, which makes the wine somewhat more accessible. Black fruits dominate here with a medium body and fine tannins. James Suckling awards it a sensational 95 points!

Château Montrose

In the Saint-Estèphe appellation, on the banks of the Gironde, lies the Deuxième-Grand-Cru-Classé-Château Montrose. Wine was only cultivated here comparatively late, since 1815. Almost 200 years later, the entrepreneurs Martin and Olivier Bouygues acquired the vineyard and invested with the aim of preserving the historic Bordeaux heritage.
