The Pauillac classic with the fantastically beautiful château benefits greatly this year from its always high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, which turned out particularly well in the 2019 vintage. At 87%, it is uniquely high this year. The supple, ripe fruit harmonises with the very masculine orientation of the "2ème Cru Classé". Vor rund 200 Jahren gab es an der Grenze von Pauillac zu Saint-Julien nur ein Weingut mit dem Namen Pichon-Longueville. Es gehörte Jacques de Pichon, Baron de Longueville, dem ersten Präsidenten des Parlaments von Bordeaux sowie seiner Frau, deren Vater Pierre de Mazure de Rauzan den Grundbesitz im Jahr 1660 erworben hatte. Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde der Besitz aufgeteilt.
