Le Macchiole Bolgheri Rosso has become an absolute bestseller. It is something like Cinzia Merli's estate wine, like a cuvée of the younger vines from the single-varietal classics Paleo, Scrio and Messorio. In the 2020 Le Macchiole, 50% Merlot meets 20% Syrah and 15% each Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is a powerhouse with a wonderful balance between power and elegance, dark fruit, concentration and accessibility. Cherries, blackberries, plums, blueberries, orange peel, aniseed, pepper and fine wood. On the palate, the cuvée is round and fruity, with grip and polished tannins.
