Winemaker Charles Smith also favours single-varietal wines at his winery in the Walla Walla Valley in Washington, which clearly reflect the typicality of the grape variety, as is the case here with his Syrah. The intense flavours of black fruits and spices are supported by a great deal of finesse and florality and lead to a fantastic harmony. Silky tannins and a deep complexity make the 2017 a great experience, which will surprise some people considering the surprisingly favourable price and the very good ratings!
