Lafite's second wine is getting closer and closer to its big brother. Often somewhat rustic in the past, the 2022 is elegant, floral and very close to the Premier Cru (probably also due to the new winemaking). Due to the very high proportion of Cabernet (for a second wine), it also has the character of a fantastic Pauillac! Perhaps a little slimmer, but a small Lafite. The price is debatable, of course, but the wine is damn good!

There are supposed to be people who have no interest whatsoever in wine. And even they "of course" know the name "Lafite-Rothschild" and know that it is one of the most famous wineries of all. Some may also have picked up that a bottle from the estate of Thomas Jefferson fetched a price of 160,000 dollars at an auction in 1985.
