Château de Fonbel has been owned by the Vauthier family since 1971. For the Vauthiers, this vineyard is the testing ground for their top wine estate Ausone and is therefore given very special attention.
Château de Fonbel St. Emilion Grand Cru 2022
This winery, which belongs to the Vauthiers Group (Château Ausone), is located in the south of the St. Emilion appellation. The cuvée consists mainly of Merlot (85%), with Cabernet Franc and Carmenère. The 2022 vintage is opulent with juicy cherry fruit, accompanied by hints of cedar wood and spicy notes. The team at Château Ausone has done an excellent job here at a more than acceptable price!
