Tua Rita Rosso dei Notri Rosso 2022

Almost a classic Bordeaux blend that is bottled here in the Maremma. Only "almost? because Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are joined by Syrah. They all grow in Cordon or Guyot vines on the Colline Metallifere's highly mineral clay soils, which are more or less interspersed with pebbles, as the region's name suggests. The grapes for the Rosso come from the pre-harvest for the premium wines of Tua Rita. This does not mean that it is second-rate - the 93 points awarded by James Suckling are evidence of the opposite. However, instead of the intensity and density of fully ripe, reduced-yield grapes, the Rosso focuses on silky elegance and a fine yet complex balance.
