Tenuta dell'Ornellaia
The Tuscan winery Tenuta dell'Ornellaia was founded in 1981 by Marchese Lodovico Antinori and in between partly owned by Robert Mondavi. Today it belongs to the wine empire of the Frescobaldi family.
Tenuta dell'Ornellaia Le Serre Nuove 2020
The "Le Serre Nuove? is the first second wine among the Tuscan Super Tuscans and, as with the second wines of the Bordeaux Grand Cru, the "Le Serre Nuove? has continued to develop into a high-class wine in its own right alongside the "Ornellaia?. The 2020 is a cuvée of 44% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc and 13% Petit Verdot. The wine comes from a warm vintage and has a wonderful richness of fruit and elegance with beguiling aromas of cherries and berries, mint and flowers, mocha, graphite and cedar wood. The impressive thing is that the wine always remains fine, precise and balanced despite its richness.
