Pinot Noir has been experiencing a steady qualitative upswing in Germany for around three decades. The Rudolf Fürst winery in Franconia, which can look back on a history of winegrowing dating back to 1638, has been involved in this development from the very beginning. The parade site is the Centgrafenberg, whose mottled sandstone weathering provides the perfect soil for Pinot Noir. Finesse is combined here with profound depth, powerful vitality and fullness remain elegant thanks to perfectly integrated acidity and minerality, as is otherwise only known from Burgundy. Red and black berries, a dash of sour cherry, plus fine herbs and spices - the 22 Centgrafenberg shows the highest precision and everything you could wish for from a great Pinot.

At home in Bürgstatt am Main, in the westernmost corner of Franconia, the winery looks back on a tradition of almost 400 years. in 1997, Paul and Monika Fürst took over the business, renovated parcels and acquired more. Since 2018, the management has been in the hands of their son Sebastian and his wife Isabell. Today, the vineyard covers 21 ha and is 60% planted with Pinot Noir. In addition, there is Frühburgunder, Chardonnay, Weißburgunder and Riesling.
