The exceptional position of the absolute top wineries can be ideally recognised in the estate wines. Dönnhoff is a prime example of this, not only producing some of the best 'Grosses Gewächs' in Germany year after year, but also bringing remarkable qualities to the bottle with its estate wines. First of all, you have to be able to vinify such an exemplary base wine that embodies slate minerality. Most of the grapes come from the Oberhäuser Leistenberg, but the cuvée also includes lots from the Hermannshöhle. The 2022 has a remarkably fine acidity for the vintage and beautiful fruit flavours of peach, passion fruit and lime. Balance and length are exemplary.

The Dönnhoff wine estate in Oberhausen on the Nahe has been in existence for over 250 years. Today it is run by Cornelius Dönnhoff, the fourth generation of the family to do so. Kreuznacher Kahlenberg, Roxheimer Höllenpfad, Krötenötenpfuhl or Dellchen. Dönnhoff has ten large vineyards that are among the best in the region - and here, on volcanic and slate rock, he produces primarily Rieslings of international renown.
