A special wine in the sense of a field blend. Originally bottled for the Sylt restaurant Sansibar, it has become highly popular. Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc) and Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) were harvested together at late-harvest ripeness, pressed, fermented, and matured?all in a single 2,400-liter "Doppelstück? cask. The relatively new wood emphasizes the juicy fruit of apple, melon, peach, and citrus, mingling with blossoms, brioche, nuts, and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is creamy and silky, elegant and juicy, with power, depth, and remarkable drive.

Dönnhoff Winery

The Dönnhoff wine estate in Oberhausen on the Nahe has been in existence for over 250 years. Today it is run by Cornelius Dönnhoff, the fourth generation of the family to do so. Kreuznacher Kahlenberg, Roxheimer Höllenpfad, Krötenötenpfuhl or Dellchen. Dönnhoff has ten large vineyards that are among the best in the region - and here, on volcanic and slate rock, he produces primarily Rieslings of international renown.
