The history of Californian viticulture is strongly characterised by career changers. Francis Ford Coppola is a prominent example. At around the same time, civil engineer Joseph Phelps entered the Napa Valley winemaking scene with his "Insignia'. Today, the wine and its maker are among the great legends of the Napa Valley. The 2016 "Insignia' was awarded 99 points by critic Robert Parker himself, who also praised it as "one of the world's best Cabernet blends'. The 84% leading grape variety is joined by 10% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec. It offers everything you could wish for from a great Cabernet in a fascinatingly elegant way.
