In addition to the vineyards for the iconic wine "Insignia', one of the best Cabernets that the Napa Valley has to offer, many other grape varieties and vineyards have now been added to Joseph Phelps' portfolio. There are now also vineyards in Sonoma, such as the Freestone Coastal vineyards. Their reliably steady morning fog is perfect for growing Chardonnay. The 2019 vintage is a classic Chardonnay vintage with golden fruit, radiantly fresh acidity and a fine mix of flavours including quince, smoked almond, beeswax and mineral salinity. Now - and certainly at its peak for another 5 years. The Wine Advocate awarded it a proud 96+ points.
