Vincent Girardin Meursault Les Charmes-Dessus Premier Cru 2020

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate awarded this Meursault 1er Cru from Vincent Girardin a remarkable 93+ points. Domaine Girardin represents the new style on the Côte de Beaune and focuses, particularly with its Chardonnays, on elegant and focused wines. The estate's 2020 vintage fully lives up to the name of its 1er Cru vineyard – Les Charmes – presenting itself as exceptionally charming. In the vineyard, the vines – which are around 675 years old – are cultivated organically; the grapes are hand-harvested and rigorously selected, with the subsequent alcoholic and malolactic fermentation taking place in barriques. The result is a highly complex, multi-layered wine of almost unfathomable depth, which combines exotic fruit, delicate herbaceous notes and salty minerality to perfection.
