Winery Albrecht Schwegler Lemberger Reserve 2020

The maxim for the reserve wines of the Albrecht Schwegler winery is single-varietal single vineyard. And even if the absolute top wine in the estate's portfolio is the "Granat' cuvée, the term "second wine' certainly does not do justice to this Lemberger. In order to clearly emphasise the varietal typicity, only fully ripe grapes from a pure south-facing vineyard are harvested extra late. The wine is matured in barriques (1/3 first and 2/3 second passage). The result is dense fruit (blackberry, plum, plum, some cherry) paired with intense spices (pepper, cardamom, clove, tobacco). The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered. We are delighted to stock this Lemberger, which is only available outside the estate from selected merchants.
