Domaine Faiveley Mercurey La Framboisière Monopole Village 2022

The grapes for Clos de Lambrays' Morey-St.-Denis Villages grow directly above the approximately 8.7-hectare Grand Cru vineyard. It demonstrates its proximity to the top vineyard with a complexity that is remarkable for a local Burgundy. Fermentation takes place in open wooden vats, and the wine is aged in barrels for 17 months (with around 20% first-use barrels). The result is a Villages of the highest class. On the nose, red berry fruit is complemented by subtle spice and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, the wine displays the nobility of a Premier Cru, a silky-elegant appearance and an ideal balance between a powerful body on the one hand and multi-layered finesse on the other.
