Domaine Faiveley Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain 2022
Domaine Faiveley itself describes this Premier Cru from the "Champ Gain' climat as the "Meursault of Puligny'. The south-east facing slope ensures early ripening, whilst the light, stony and well-drained soil lends it a Meursault-like character, full of depth and structure. The nose is dominated by citrus and exotic fruit, with subtle toasted notes rounding out the bouquet. On the palate, this Puligny offers tremendous depth, concentration and mineral tension. This is hardly surprising, as the majority of the vines on this plot are between 40 and 60 years old. Nevertheless, it remains consistently balanced and harmonious, with a surprising degree of freshness and a long finish characterised by impressive precision and finesse.
