Family winery Tement Zieregg Steilriegel 2021
When you read Tement and Zieregg, you immediately think of Sauvignon Blanc. The fact that a Morillon (a.k.a. Chardonnay) also grows in a single parcel in the estate's parade vineyard is often overlooked. Unfortunately, and wrongly so. Because the Morillon that Armin Tement produces here deserves attention. 40-year-old vines, grown on Chardonnay's favourite, limestone soil, and 30 months of ageing in used barriques result in a wine that is well worth seeing. And it offers everything you would expect from a first-class Chardonnay: depth, pure fruit and herbal flavour, well-dosed wood. And all of this in the confident and elegantly complex style that has made Armin Tement and his Sauvignons famous.
