The 2021 L'Evangile exemplifies the changes of recent years and also the dilemma. Formerly classic, the Pomerol vineyard on the best terroir between Petrus and Chevalm Blanc fell into the "power trap? around 20 years ago. At times, the wines seemed a little too muscular and overpowered. Fortunately, that time is over, because L'Evangile can do more! And that is now evident. Classic Pomerol aromas of dark berries with a silky tannin structure. The wine finally has the great charm of past years. It is somewhat stronger than its immediate neighbor La Conseillante, but that is a good thing...typical L'Evangile.

The 22-hectare Château L'Evangile is located on the border with St. Emilion, right between Château Cheval Blanc and Petrus. It belongs to a small group of privileged wine estates on the Pomerol plateau, the best terroir in the appellation.
