Mount Mary Vineyard
The Yarra Valley, in southeast Australia, east of Melbourne. In the 1850s, Swiss settlers recognised the climatic parallels to Burgundy and Bordeaux and planted the first vines. The Mount Mary winery has been here since 1972.
Mount Mary Triolet 2021
The 2021 vintage will go down in Mount Mary's history?one wine seems better than the next. The "Triolet? is a blend of 65% Sauvignon Blanc, 25% Sémillon, and 10% Muscadelle. The grapes were destemmed and pressed, with 20% going whole into the press. Fermentation took place in barrel, followed by 11 months of aging in used barriques. This wine is breathtakingly beautiful, offering aromas of lanolin, lemon drops and lemongrass, quince and greengage, nectarine, jasmine, and nettle, with a touch of sandalwood and oak. On the palate, it is an extremely seductive, powerful, elegant, energetic white wine with outstanding aging potential.
