Fontanafredda Winery
Deep in the Langhe, where the Nebbiolo for the best Barolo grows, lies the Fontanafredda wine estate. The land was purchased in 1858 by none other than King Vittorio Emanuele II for the wife of his heart, Rosa Vercelana.
Winery Fontanafredda Serralunga D'Alba Barolo 2019
A Barolo from the commune of Serralunga d'Alba, fermented in stainless steel and then aged at least two years in barriques and larger oak casks from Allier and Slavonia. Bright ruby red, this Barolo offers notes of violets, cedar, oak, sandalwood, pepper, earth, cherry, and plum. On the palate, fine tannins combine with crisp acidity. Still young, but with solid aging potential.
