There are many raspberry spirits on the market, but genuine raspberry brandies are much rarer. The reason for this is obvious: while fruit flavouring may be added to spirits, genuine raspberry brandy consists exclusively of pure distillate from fermented raspberry mash. This makes it much more complex and, of course, more expensive to produce than liqueur. There is no question, of course, which variant the uncompromisingly quality-oriented master distiller Hans Reisetbauer is dedicated to. Around 33 kilograms of sparkling clean and fully ripe raspberries are ultimately used to produce one litre of his beguilingly fragrant and fruity raspberry brandy.
