In the warmer 2018 vintage, Roumier's "Ruchottes-Chambertin? displays depth, energy and a majestic structure. Dark cherry, violet, smoke, liquorice and damp earth rise from the glass, coolly accompanied by chalk. The palate combines density with transparency, fine tannins with ripe acidity. The length is crystal clear, the finish filled with salty calm. Still youthfully closed, but with rare nobility – a wine that combines silence and power.
