In 2010, the French tycoon Patrice Pichet purchased Château les Carmes Haut-Brion with the aim of making it into a real gem nestled in the heart of Bordeaux.

Situated between Haut-Bailly and Smith Haut Lafitte lies Château Carmes Haut-Brion, which has earned the highest acclaim since its acquisition by Patrice Pichet in 2010. The 2022 Grand Vin has garnered numerous 100-point ratings from international wine critics – but the château's second wine is also highly impressive. In particular, it offers incredible value for money. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot combine to create a dense Pessac, driven by intense berry fruit and full of finesse and elegance. It is multi-layered, with floral as well as mineral notes, yet has a highly distinguished character. Wine critics almost universally rate it in the upper half of the 90s.
