Weingut Dr. Salomon Ried Kögl DAC Kremstal Erste Lage Riesling 2023

The Ried Kögl is one of the best Riesling sites along the Danube. Weathered primary rock with slate and gneiss components, south-facing terraces and a protected microclimate between Krems and Stein an der Donau characterise the clear, mineral style of this wine. The dry Riesling, which received 95 points from James Suckling, is youthful and precise, with aromas of gooseberry, orange zest and bergamot, complemented by exotic fruit notes and delicate herbal spices. On the palate, it is both taut and juicy, with elegant fruit sweetness, finesse-rich acidity and a long, stony finish that provides depth and sustainability.
