Tenuta dell'Ornellaia Le Volte 2024

Clear, approachable, uncomplicated – these are the attributes Tenuta dell'Ornellaia uses to describe its Le Volte. This wine, which has been in production since 1991, was specifically designed as an introduction to the world of Ornellaia. Its blend consists of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese (and occasionally Petit Verdot); after hand-harvesting, the grapes are fermented separately by variety in stainless steel. Following blending, the wine is aged for ten months – partly in used Ornellaia barriques and partly in tanks. The estate describes its 2024 Le Volte as having a powerful structure, underpinned by elegance and finesse. On the nose and on the palate, there are abundant notes of fresh red fruit (cherry, wild strawberry), complemented by a highly elegant hint of menthol.
