The Gusbourne "Blanc de Noirs? 2019 is a striking demonstration of the finesse and depth that English sparkling wine can possess. Made exclusively from Pinot Noir, it originates from vineyards in Kent and West Sussex. The vines grow on chalk and clay soils, which lend freshness, minerality, and expression to the grapes. The wine matured for 27 months on the lees, gaining complexity, creaminess, and an exceptionally fine mousse. On the nose: aromas of white currants, red berries, ripe apples, grapefruit, and brioche. On the palate: elegance, precision, and length. The balance of fruit intensity, lively acidity, ginger spice, and vibrant minerality is convincing. The 2018 vintage ranks among the most elegant wines of Gusbourne Estate.
