Benjamin Leroux Bourgogne rouge 2024

Benjamin Leroux's 2024 Bourgogne Rouge comes primarily from vineyards below Pommard and Volnay, supplemented by lots from Monthélie. After aging in wood, the wine was transferred to tanks to allow for further harmonization. In the glass, it displays a medium ruby red color. On the nose, cherries, cranberries, and crushed strawberries take center stage; overall, the aromas still seem somewhat youthful and unrefined. On the palate, the Pinot Noir is medium-bodied, fragrant, and juicy, with a sweet core of red fruits and a noticeably firmer structure in the background. The finish is currently still somewhat tart and closed off. A young, straightforward Bourgogne Rouge with clear fruit and potential for development.
