But it is likely precisely this broader diversity that so clearly illustrates the Rougeard philosophy here time and again. The 2020 vintage is supple and features the usual aromatic suspects: raspberry and red currant, along with dark cherry, violet, and the finest pepper, all framed by a smoky hint of graphite. It's crisp and fresh, with fine yet firm tannins and plenty of potential for the future. It'salso the most approachable 2020 vintage of the Rougeard trio.
