Unofficially, it's a Rosso di Montalcino made from grapes harvested from the single-vineyard Rosso known as Banditella. In Col d'Orcia, we've found a partner for this exclusive wine?a winery that can be called the "inventor? of Rosso di Montalcino and produces it to perfection. Aged in used small barrels and large botti, this Sangiovese evokes blackcurrants, wild strawberries, and sour cherries, along with dried roses, a hint of cedar, earth, and undergrowth. On the palate, the wine is juicy with deep, dark fruit and lively acidity. At the same time, it remains refined, finely textured, firm, and spicy.
