Valle Reale Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Vigneto di Popoli 2023
The "Vigneto di Popoli? comes from a Trebbiano vineyard covering approximately one hectare on the Valle Reale plateau. Some rows of vines lie directly in front of the ruins of a 14th-century cave cellar where Benedictine monks once produced and stored wine. In the glass, the wine displays a bright straw-yellow color. Lime, quince, and grapefruit blend with sage, flint, hazelnut, and dried apricot. On the palate, it is dense yet cool, with ripe fruit, minty herbal spice, and a pronounced mineral note. Juicy acidity, pink grapefruit, and a delicately tart citrus note characterize the long finish. This is a complex, energetic Trebbiano with excitement and excellent aging potential. A gem that you rarely get to enjoy in a glass.
