Louis Latour Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2024

For Louis Latour, Corton-Charlemagne is far more than just a Grand Cru: with 10.5 hectares, the family is the appellation's largest owner and has played a decisive role in shaping its history since the late 19th century. The Chardonnay vines, around 30 years old, grow on stony limestone soil with a south-easterly aspect. The 2024 vintage was harvested as late as possible to combine maximum ripeness with the freshness of the vintage. Fermentation and ageing take place for eight to ten months in new barriques. On the nose, there are notes of white peach, fresh hazelnut and vanilla; on the palate, lime blossom, acacia honey and an almost lavish, buttery richness. The long, mineral finish and the intensity so typical of Corton point to great ageing potential.
