Rheingau wine-growing region

The Rheingau wine-growing region in south-west Germany is known for its outstanding Rieslings.

Riesling accounts for around 80% of the area under cultivation and is characterised by minerality and elegance. The mild climate and diverse soils contribute to the complexity of the wines.

Winegrowing dates back to the Middle Ages and was promoted by monasteries and noble houses.

Rheingau wines are known for their elegance, minerality and complexity, whereby Riesling as the leading grape variety can be vinified both dry and sweet. The best sites produce long-lasting wines with exceptional terroir expression.
