Buy wines from Taittinger
The traditional family business is based in Reims and emerged from the Forest & Fourneaux winery in the early 1930s. It was founded by Pierre-Charles Taittinger, who was a young Parisian officer stationed at the Château de la Marquetterie in Champagne in 1915. 17 years later, he bought this château and joined forces with his brother-in-law Paul Evêque to take over Forest-Fourneaux two years later.
in 2005, Taittinger was sold to the US stock corporation Starwood due to an inheritance dispute. Just one year later, Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger, the founder's grandson, bought it back. "For him, this repurchase was a kind of reconquest as an act of faith, in the spirit of family duty and patriotic conscience."
Today, Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger runs the company together with his children. Daughter Vitalie, also Chairman since 2020, is responsible for marketing, is Artistic Director and is also an ambassador for the brand. Son Colvis travels the world of wine, develops international sales and forges collaborations. These include the collaboration with FIFA in 2014 and 2018, which made Taittinger the official champagne of the FIFA World Cup.
Taittinger is one of the largest private producers in Champagne. The 288 hectares of vineyards are spread over 34 Grand Crus sites.
