Champagne Taittinger Comtes de Champagne 2014
Rarely are wine critics as unanimous as they are regarding the 2014 vintage of Taittinger's "Comtes de Champagne?. Parker, Suckling and Galloni have all awarded it 97 points. Galloni even draws parallels with the legendary 2008 vintage. But the consensus extends not only to the scores, but also to the enthusiasm for the aromatic diversity and elegance of this Blanc de Blancs, sourced entirely from Grand Cru vineyards. We particularly like an association in Jancis Robinson's notes, which evokes memories of grilled sourdough bread from "fancy cafés'. We can immediately relate to this and longingly imagine ourselves in a café in Soho – before us a "British Cheese & Charcuterie Platter', the aforementioned grilled sourdough bread and a bottle of Comtes de Champagne 2014.
