Although the Demeter vineyard right next to Mouton Rothschild is a 5ème Cru, it would now be categorised much higher. The most recent vintages prove its rocket-like rise with top ratings from all critics. It is always a little exotic, the fruit is always a little sweeter and more opulent, the tannins rather finely polished and the drinkability starts quite early for a Pauillac, which does not mean that Pontet Canet cannot age. Quite the opposite, as the 2020 will last for decades. It delights with an intoxicating aroma of ripe plums and dark berries.

Château Pontet-Canet in Pauillac has been in existence since the 18th century. Since 1975, it has been run by the Tesseron family, who have consistently developed it into one of the best wine estates in the world. Justine Tesseron, the third generation, is currently at the helm.
